Uwem Ukpong is Vice President of Global Services at Amazon Web
Services (AWS), the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted
cloud. As a member of the AWS executive leadership team, Uwem’s
responsibilities include leading experienced cloud experts from across
AWS—including training, professional services in commercial and public
sectors, customer support and managed services, security, international
product management, and digital sovereignty—to empower customers
to take on transformative initiatives that drive cloud adoption and
enhance value to their business and customers.

Uwem brings nearly 30 years of deep industry experience across
technology, operations, energy, and software domains. He previously
served as EVP of Regions Alliances and Enterprise Sales for Baker
Hughes, where he led global oil and gas operations across North
America, Latin America, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East, Asia
Pacific, and China; and held positions such as Chief Global Operations
Officer and VP of Integration. Among the initiatives Uwem led the
successful integration of the $32 billion merger between GE Oil & Gas
and Baker Hughes. Prior to Baker Hughes, Uwem served as President of
Schlumberger Software, where he was responsible for strategic
development and commercialization of industry software and services
for reservoir characterization, production optimization, and drilling.
